Independence Boulevard Christian Church - IBCC creates partnerships between nonprofits and those who serve the community along with the worshiping body known as IBCC. We want people to experience the love, healing, hope, and beloved community described in Jesus’ first sermon where there is good news for the poor, freedom for the oppressed, sight for the blind, release for the captives, and the jubilee year of the Lord where nothing stands between anyone and their wholeness. To that end, we hope that people across diverse backgrounds and means will intersect and gather here through shared interests and shared dreams for the community. These donations help us to have a building where we can continue to create this space for individuals within our community and for the ministries of IBCC.

The Micah Ministry - An urban, ecumenical outreach mission of Independence Boulevard Christian Church to the unhoused and food insecure people in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City, Missouri. The Micah Ministry began in 2001 as a mission designed to encourage Christian unity, end racism and “feed my sheep.” (John 21:15-17) It is centered around a ministry of home-cooked meals in which faith-based and civic volunteers partner and seek to help our food vulnerable neighbors. From 5:30p-7:00p every Monday, Micah offers a hot “to-go” meal, hygiene products, clothing, additional food items, a free medical clinic from Care Beyond the Boulevard, and items to support our house-less neighbors such as blankets, sleeping bags, tents, etc. We are currently serving 1000-1200 meals, a few hundred rolls of toilet paper, and 250-300 clothing/outdoor survival items each Monday evening. We partner with several organizations such as Jobs KC, Harvesters/Snaps Program, MCC, etc. Your financial contributions allow us to continue this service for our houseless and food insecure neighbors.

The Capital Improvements Fund - We regularly need donations to revitalize our 1905 historic building, making it more useable and dignified for our community. Occasionally, we make specific requests for projects and declare donations to this fund during a specified time window for those projects. If not projects are currently happening, the donations given to this fund will be held for the next capital need. Please call 816-231-0016 to inquire about current designations. If none is currently designated, donations to this fund will be held for the next capital need.

Intersect Arts - Intersect Arts is more than just a place to take art classes—it’s a movement to create a connected and thriving community in the heart of the Historic Northeast of Kansas City, Missouri. Launched by a collective of passionate local artists, Intersect Arts offers classes designed to bring neighbors together through creativity and shared experiences. We believe that art has the power to transform both individuals and communities. That’s why we’ve created a range of classes that are accessible to everyone. With offerings in martial arts, painting, theatre arts, culinary arts, and much more, Intersect Arts welcomes artists of all ages and skill levels. And to ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of anyone’s creative journey, we offer free entry (covered by your donations) alongside our low-cost fees for those who can afford to pay. But Intersect Arts is about more than just learning a new skill. Each class is crafted to build relationships, foster community, and spark conversations about how we can make our neighborhood stronger together. Our classes encourage sharing, supporting one another, and even strategizing ways to build a beloved community around us.
