Lenten Studies

Each of the 6 weeks of Lent we will have study sessions on topics we can all relate to. Marla Wills will be leading these study sessions  We will watch a 10-15 minute video and discuss questions regarding them, hopefully coming to new insights into our own lives. We will also have snacks and coffee to enjoy!

Here are some short sentences about each study:

  • How did Jesus suffer the loss of a loved one?  Can we use this information to relate to how we can also navigate such difficult times in our own lives with extreme losses?

  • Silence is hard for us...why? How can we hear God through all the constant noise in our lives?

  • We seem to think things are missing in our lives.  Can we trust God enough to know what we need and what we don't?

  • Do you ever wonder how the day to day things were in Jesus' time?  How might knowing some of those things influence our perceptions of Christianity and what it means for us today?

  • How do we let go of thinking our worth comes from how good, or smart, or skilled we are?

  • God loves us...even knowing every detail of our lives. How do we accept that?

We hope to see you at our study times each Wednesday morning Feb. 14, 21, 28, Mar. 6, 13, & 20 from 10a-11:30a in the Friendship Room at IBCC. You will enter the building through the glass doors off of Gladstone Ave. There are two parking lots that are available to park in.
